On October 28, 1979, a parlour of homemade ice-creams was created as a family-owned business in the City of Olivos , Buenos Aires. This business resulted in the creation of “Schietto Ice-creams.”

By 1986, the first ice-cream parlour already had three branches. It was then when new manufacturing equipment started being installed, and the company began to supply third parties. Reseller ice-cream parlours and restaurants became the company´s main clients.

In 1993, an ice-cream production plant was built in Munro City. This factory has been equipped with Italian technology tools that enable the continuous pasteurization and homogenization of ice-creams. Thus, as we kept on maintaining the original homemade recipes, the new production systems enhanced the texture and the creaminess. Consequently, we succeed in creating a high-quality ice-cream that mixes the best of homemade ice-creams with state-of-the-art technology.

It was then when we penetrated into the institutional market by supplying our ice-creams to a huge number of industrial dining rooms and of catering companies. Some of the dining rooms that we currently supply are the following: “Coca-Cola”, “Shell” oil refinery, “Gilette”, “Válvulas de Precisión”, “Consejo Profesional de Ciencias Económicas de la Capital Federal” (Professional Council of Economic Sciences in Buenos Aires City), “Roemmers Laboratories”, “Fratelli Branca”, “Molinos Río de la Plata”, “Unión de Trabajadores Gastronómicos de la República Argentina” (Labour Union of restaurant workers in the Argentine Republic), etc. Besides, the catering companies that also supply the above mentioned dining rooms conduct annual quality inspections not only of our ice-creams but also of our manufacturing systems.

In 1999, we expanded our market area, which originally covered the City and the Province of Buenos Aires. Since then, we have handled our own distribution system that has enabled us to supply clients in Mar del Plata, in the Atlantic Coast, in Azul, in Tandil, in Bahía Blanca and in Entre Ríos. Besides, we also delivered our products to Río Negro, to Chubut, to Santa Cruz and to Tierra del Fuego through third-party distributors.

In 2004, the company underwent a general reorganization. In addition, the factory was re-equipped with state-of-the-art technology. Thus, we adjusted the manufacturing processes to the latest quality standards, and our output capacity was boosted to more than 8,000,000 litres of ice-cream per year.

Now, we own a new distribution centre that can store more than 1,000,000 litres of finished products. It is located in a cold-storage building that has a capacity of 2,500 cubic meters where 900 storage and shipping pallets can be placed. Besides, we deliver our products to all over the country through our own distribution system.
